Information Technology

At Ford of Canada, Information Technology goes beyond the traditional IT department to bring more efficient processes and systems to every area of the business.

Our vision is: "When asked, our customers, clients, suppliers, partners, employees, and stakeholders say, without hesitation, that Information Technology is a critical and competitive differentiator for Ford." We are proud to hold ourselves to this high standard.

Our work is about being a leader and applying IT and process reengineering to every part of the company. It is about being a consultant who understands the areas we support and embraces change. Technology is our tool - and our work is with people.

We need leaders and innovators - high-powered, team-oriented people - to develop the next generation of business solutions and implement them with state-of-the-art technology.

How IT is organized:
We prioritise projects centrally, based on their impact on business processes and achievement of business objectives. We work closely with Ford's business organisations through three groups: our Process and Technology Group (PTG), Application Development Services (ADS), and our Information Technology Infrastructure Group (ITIG).

Collaborating with these groups helps reduce delivery time for new development and lower costs for our partners. We are a dynamic and evolving organisation, transforming ourselves into "One IT" with a sharpening focus on specialisation and accountability.

We support Ford's strategies through:

  • Solution Delivery: delivering solutions to our business partners, on time, with high-quality and competitive costs.
  • Rigorous Execution: discipline and rigor to all we do.
  • Utility Provisioning: providing the right infrastructure, at the right time, at the right cost.
  • Building Core Competencies & Intellectual Property: valuing our people and technical capabilities, and ensuring we have the organisational capability to anticipate demand and exceed expectations.

With Information Technology you will:

  • Support team initiatives across functions to provide solutions to business needs.
  • Provide the technology to deliver those solutions.

Preferred Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree - Information Systems, Engineering, Business
  • Master's degree - Information Systems, Business
