Our Culture

Valuing Diversity
Diversity embodies all of the differences that make us unique individuals. At Ford of Canada, we recognize that diversity is not only a reality of our global economy but is also distinct advantage that we value and embrace. We recognise that we can only leverage the benefits of diversity by understanding and respecting the differences among all employees.

Just as our customer base is diverse, so is our workforce.

Reflected in our products, diversity is a competitive advantage in a global economy. It broadens our range of talents and stimulates our creativity, adding to the appeal of our products, especially in new and emerging markets. Our understanding of diversity helps us serve our customers better.

We find that well-managed, diverse work teams can outperform homogeneous teams and that complex problems can best be solved by cross-functional teams. Because success and productivity are natural extensions of a culture that truly values all people, diversity is among our top priorities.

Worklife Integration
We know you do your best work when you can balance your challenging and rewarding working life with other interests and commitments - such as your community, your loved ones, and yourself. Helping you find that balance is an important aspect of our culture. At Ford of Canada, we have an environment that supports flextime, telecommuting, childcare, wellness and fitness, continuing education, and transitional work arrangements. These tools help you maximise both your own personal growth and your contribution to the company.

Transitional Work Arrangements
Transitional work arrangements may be available to regular, full-time, salaried employees for personal and family reasons, education, career development, or community service. The program allows eligible employees to reduce their work hours by as much as 50 percent with management approval.

Volunteering/Community Events
Our community volunteer program builds stronger teams and communities. At Ford of Canada, we believe in giving back to communities in which we work - not just because our management says so, but because our people do. In addition to participating in a variety of Ford of Canada supported community events, employees are encouraged to spend 16 hours of company time each year engaged in approved community activities in small groups with their work colleagues.
