Three different engines provide more than enough attitude under the hood – the turbocharged, direct-injection Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoost® engine, the powerful 3.5L Ti-VCT and the athletic 2.7L EcoBoost®. These engines were designed, engineered and built to provide the power, performance and the fuel efficiency that today’s accelerated lifestyle demands.
Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoost®

Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoost®

In addition to a unique twin-scroll turbocharger, the 2.0L EcoBoost® engine also features an integrated exhaust manifold optimized for the twin-scroll setup and an active oil control system. A high-pressure direct-injection fuel system dishes out precise fuel delivery and the active wastegate accurately manages boost and torque levels. The 2.0L EcoBoost® engine is standard in all models except Sport. This advanced technology helps to produce 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque11 . This engine has a Government of Canada-estimated rating of 11.3L/100 km (25 mpg) city, 8.0L/100 km (35 mpg) hwy, and 9.8L/100 km (30 mpg) combined2 FWD.

Available 3.5L Ti-VCT V6

The optional 3.5L twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) V6 delivers 280 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque11 . This engine is available on SE, SEL and Titanium models. With conventional valve timing, the intake and exhaust valves have to open and close at a fixed point, compromising performance. But Ti-VCT virtually eliminates this compromise. With its variable control of valve cam timing, Ti-VCT can optimize performance across the entire low, mid and high ranges of the power band to match driving conditions.

Auto Start-Stop Technology

Auto Start-Stop Technology

Auto Stop-Start Technology is standard on the 2017 Ford Edge SE 2.0L EcoBoost® FWD models and can help reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving. While the vehicle is stopped, the engine automatically shuts off and then seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator or when your foot leaves the brake pedal.
Active Grille Shutters and Front Air Curtain

Active Grille Shutters21  and Front Air Curtain

The Active Grille Shutters21 help to reduce air resistance and increase fuel efficiency. When the Active Grille Shutters are fully closed, vehicle aerodynamics are improved by reducing airflow through the radiator. With the front air curtains*, aero ducts are positioned on the lower fascia of the vehicle. Air is guided through these ducts and forced out across the front wheel wells, creating an air curtain down the vehicle side.
Six-Speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters

Six-Speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters

You don’t have to know how to drive a manual transmission or learn how to master a clutch to enjoy the sporty feel of shifting gears. Using race-inspired technology, the steering wheel-mounted paddles provide an engaged driving experience by letting you easily and quickly go from gear to gear without taking your hands off the wheel.

Available Adaptive Cruise Control10

Adaptive cruise control10 isn’t conventional cruise control. When its radar sensor detects traffic slowing ahead, your vehicle also slows down. After traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the preset speed10 . This system lets the driver set distance, speed and the time gap between vehicles. Another feature, forward collision warning with brake support, can alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front of you. A heads-up display will flash on the windshield. If you don’t react and the system senses that a collision is imminent, the brakes will precharge10 .
