If there’s one word that sums up the Focus driving experience, it would be fun. For starters, you have four powertrains to choose from. For performance enthusiasts, the ST and limited-edition RS* engines deliver abundant horsepower to make quick work of curves and straightaways. And speaking of curves, standard Torque Vectoring Control and electric power-assisted steering let you get the most out of them.19  There’s another side to Focus. Plug into the zero-CO2 emissions Focus Electric** and you’ll never have to fill up your car with gas since it runs on 100 percent electricity.

Driving Dynamics

Focus has standard Torque Vectoring Control19 , which is designed to help the front wheels grip and steer better while cornering or driving in slippery conditions. Other driving dynamics features include electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), Active Grille Shutters*, a six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission or available PowerShift automatic transmission.

The sporty Focus ST is designed to deliver sporty fun. It’s powered by a 2.0L EcoBoost® engine that delivers 252 horsepower11  and 270 lb.-ft. of torque11 . It has electric power-assisted steering that delivers increased responsiveness in the corners while providing less sensitivity on the straightaways, plus Torque Vectoring Control to help the front wheels grip and steer better in the turns. And, of course, powerful front and rear disc brakes are standard.

Limited-Edition Focus RS*

Focus RS is the fastest, most powerful Focus we make. Its 2.3L EcoBoost® engine delivers best- in-class 350 horsepower11  and 350 lb.-ft. of torque11 .** It can go from 0 to 100 in 4.7 seconds and has a top track speed of 266 kph. For optimal control, it also features Ford Performance All-Wheel Drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring. Additionally, by controlling the torque delivered to each front wheel, the 2018 Focus RS Quaife®  limited-slip differential enables drivers to fully exploit the 350-horsepower11  2.3-litre EcoBoost engine’s power. The system limits the engine torque delivered to a particular front wheel that has reduced traction on the road surface, and redistributes torque to the wheel with more traction to counteract the wheel spin that can hamper acceleration and stability.

Focus Electric

Ford Focus Electric needs no gas, requires zero oil changes and produces zero C02    emissions. It has a fuel efficient rating of 2.0 Le/100km (141 MPGe) city and an estimated driving range of 185 kilometres*. With a top speed of 135 km/h, Focus Electric offers instant torque and smooth acceleration that will grab your attention. At available DC Fast Charge stations, a 30-minute charge can provide a projected range of over 121 km (75 miles) based on EPA test protocols. With an available Ford-recommended AeroVironment 240-volt/30-amp home charging station, you can fully recharge in as little as 5.5 hours**.

Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS)

EPAS automatically adjusts to deliver precise responses at high speed and optimal maneuverability at lower speeds. Pull-drift compensation continually measures driver steering input, adapts to changing road conditions and helps adjust for slight directional shifts, like uneven road surfaces or crosswinds. All of this comes together to deliver smooth responsiveness and excellent control. The ST model is additionally enhanced with variable EPAS, providing the performance customer with even more precise steering, aggressive torque steer tuning and the ability to accelerate while maintaining grip – even on uneven road surfaces.
