Advanced technology and design

Fusion offers a wide range of available technologies to help keep you aware of your surroundings and ever-changing traffic conditions. One feature is the available Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection106 to alert you of pedestrians or vehicles entering your path. Fusion also offers additional available driver-assist technologies that can help detect vehicles in your blind spots, adjust your speed while in cruise control, help you stay in your lane, find a parking space and more.10

Available Pedestrian Detection with Pre-Collision Assist

Available Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection106

If the system’s sensors detect a potential collision with a car or pedestrian in front of you, a warning flashes on the windshield and an audible alert sounds. Also, the brakes will pre-charge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you brake. If the driver does not take corrective action and collision is imminent, brakes can automatically apply.106 Available on SE and Titanium, and standard on Platinum and Sport.

Available Enhanced Active Park Assist9

While driving slowly near parking spots, activate this feature and your Ford Fusion will scan for an available one. Ultrasonic sensors measure your distance from parked vehicles, and once an appropriate spot is identified, you’re signalled to stop and accept the system’s assistance. With a few actions on your part – shifting, accelerating and braking – the vehicle can smoothly parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking space.9

Available Lane-Keeping System10

A camera mounted behind the windshield scans road lane markings to determine vehicle position and to detect a lane departure. The system can operate during the day or night. Available lane-keeping alert warns you through a series of steering wheel vibrations, which mimic a rumble strip, should the system detect an unintentional lane departure. Lane-keeping aid actively applies steering torque, which alerts you to direct your vehicle back into the target lane should the system detect an unintended lane departure*.10
*Lane-Keeping System does not control steering.
Cross-traffic alert

Available Cross-Traffic Alert10

Available cross-traffic alert10 uses radar to sense for traffic behind your vehicle when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If cross-traffic alert sensors detect a vehicle approaching from up to 13.7 metres (15 yards) away, you will be alerted by a visual display in the corresponding mirror and a signal in the message centre. You will receive an audible alert as well. Cross-traffic alert comes with available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System)10 .

Standard Rear View Camera10

Put the gear selector in Reverse and the rear view camera10   automatically transmits the image of what’s behind your vehicle to your screen when you’re slowly backing up. The rear view camera is standard on all models.

Available inflatable rear safety belts

Available Inflatable Rear Safety Belts8

The Ford Fusion is the first vehicle in its class* to offer inflatable rear safety belts8 . These available rear outboard safety belts are designed to hold the passenger in the appropriate seating position and can help distribute crash-force energy across more of the torso area than traditional belts, which can help reduce the risk of injury, while providing support to the head and neck. These safety belts are compatible with many infant and child-safety booster seats. (Shown in inflated state.)
*Class is Midsize Hybrid Sedans, Midsize Sedans and Midsize Plug-In Hybrid Sedans based on Ford segmentation.
Available adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go

Available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go10

When Fusion is in cruise mode, a radar sensor detects slowing traffic ahead and can automatically brake and accelerate to keep you moving with the pace of traffic.10  With the addition of stop-and-go, the feature can bring your vehicle to a complete stop in stopped traffic and restart it as traffic begins to move*.

U.S. Model Shown.

*If stop is longer than three seconds, driver must tap accelerator pedal or push resume button to confirm that they want the vehicle to start moving again.
