New AWD Helps Take You Where The Work Is

In regions where weather delivers challenging driving conditions, the newly-available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) can make all the difference between leaving for a destination… and actually getting there. In normal mode, it continuously monitors and optimizes torque output with the capability of sending up to 100% of available torque to the front wheels to help prevent slipping on loose surfaces. The system responds within milliseconds, redirecting power to the wheels with the most traction to help prevent slip from happening in the first place.

Technology That Drives Confidence Forward.

In an increasingly crowded world, we can all use more confidence on the road. New available driver-assist features help to make the 2020 Ford Transit the smartest Transit ever.10  Check out a few of them.

New Powertrain Choices

The new standard 3.5L PFDI (Port Fuel and Direct Injection) V6 engine offers a solid baseline of power to get work done. A 3.5L EcoBoost engine dials up the performance. And now, there’s also a direct-injected 2.0L I-4 EcoBlue® bi-turbo diesel available. For additional efficiency, both the EcoBoost and EcoBlue engines offer standard Auto Start-Stop Technology, which engages whenever the vehicle comes to a stop at idle – potentially reducing fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving. A new 10-speed automatic transmission enhances every engine in the Transit lineup, providing smooth, seamless shifting.

New Crew Van

Got a lot of cargo to carry… and a bigger crew to bring along? Based on feedback from our customers, we’ve added the new Transit Crew Van to the lineup in 2020. It can carry five people, with two rows of seating and side curtain airbags to protect the second row. The Transit Crew Van is the best of both worlds when it comes to moving both passengers and gear to your jobsite.

Unrivalled Accessibility

If your job calls for working from both sides, dual sliding side cargo doors are available. Also available on medium- and high-roof models, a new passenger-side power-sliding side door can make it even easier to load and unload over the course of a day… with anti-pinch technology to help make it safer, too.

This Full-Size Van is Built Ford Tough®

Transit isn’t just busy carrying your passengers and/or cargo. It’s carrying the Ford legacy of getting the job done, each and every time. That’s why it’s stood up to over 10 million customer-equivalent kilometres of testing in our labs, on our proving grounds, and on the road – while subjected to temperature extremes from either end of the spectrum.
