HOSS Suspension Overview

Every Ford Bronco® SUV comes with one of four HOSS (High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension) Systems. The HOSS System is the set of finely tuned components (springs, shocks and solid rear axle) that support your Bronco® and keep its tires firmly planted on the ground.

Off-Road Hero Switches

Depending on the trim and options you choose, engaging the front locking differential, available rear locking differential, available sway-bar disconnect or available Trail Turn Assist is a button press away.10

Available Electronic Front and Rear Locking Differential

For additional control in uneven, rugged and slippery terrain, locking differentials allow both wheels on an axle to rotate at the same speed and evenly apply the same power. This is an important feature when traversing rugged, uneven off-road terrain. The Ford Bronco® features a Dana 44 AdvanTEK® solid rear axle and Dana AdvanTEK independent front differential unit (standard/non-locking). The available locking differentials are Spicer® Performa-TraK.

Available Front Stabilizer Bar Disconnect

For extreme rock crawling, you want your front tires to be able to move up and down independently.  Standard on Badlands and Raptor, the stabilizer bar disconnect feature helps them do just that. The system (whether engaged in Rock-Crawl Mode or manually) disconnects over uneven terrain — providing maximum articulation so you can move freely over rugged, uneven surfaces. It also offers a unique-to-the-class design* and features a disconnect function, regardless of articulation. Additionally, the bar can automatically reconnect when speeds exceed 20 mph with Raptor .
