Innovations that OutSmart, OutPerform and OutManeuver

At Ford, we believe that we can always make things better. We exist, for the sole purpose of making life for our customers and society, better, easier and safer.  From keeping you out of harm’s way whether behind the wheel or on the street, to turning parallel parking from an exercise in futility into an exercise in precision – we’ve got your back.10

360-degree camera

360-Degree Camera with Split View Display10

Love at first sight.

Four cameras – located in the grille, tailgate, and under each of the sideview mirrors ensure you have a full line of sight at all times10. The system provides a 360-degree view by stitching the images together and displaying them on a centre stack screen. Maneuvering in tight spaces or on trails is now simple. Included with the 360-Degree Camera is the Dynamic Hitch Assist feature that provides a line-of-sight guide to help direct your hitch ball to the trailer receiver10. Your kids will finally believe you have eyes on the back of your head.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support10

Take your guardian angel along for the ride.

Imagine traditional cruise control with the ability to see and think – that’s Adaptive Cruise Control. When its radar detects traffic ahead slowing it automatically slows down, then resumes the preset speed when traffic clears10. Similarly, Forward Collision Warning with Brake Assists alerts you with a flash on the windshield and an audible warning when it senses a potential collision approaching10. If you don’t react quickly it pre-charges and increases brake-assist sensitivity to increase responsiveness when you do brake.

Pre-Collision Assist

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection106

Be aware of your surroundings, always.

With the rise of distracted drivers and “Petextrians” using smartphones you need to stay ever vigilant and aware. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection alerts you to pedestrians and vehicles entering your path and can even engage the brakes if necessary106. The radar and camera sensors detect stopped or moving vehicles that are travelling the same direction as your vehicle. It alerts you with a flash on the windshield and an audible warning when it senses a potential collision approaching. If you don’t react quickly and it determines a collision is likely it pre-charges and increases brake-assist sensitivity to increase responsiveness when you do brake (Brake Support). If the corrective action is not taken and a collision is now imminent the brakes are automatically applied. (Active Braking).

Active Park Assist

Enhanced Active Park Assist with Parallel and Reverse Perpendicular Parking9

Like having a spotter without the embarrassment of needing a spotter.

Whether parallel parking or reversing into a spot, it’s got your back. No longer will you attempt to park while stressing about holding up traffic. It’s 12 ultrasonic sensors measure your distance from parked cars, scanning for suitable parking spaces and then help you park9. All you have to do is shift, accelerate and brake and it takes care of the steering. Smoothly and easily parallel parking or backing into a perpendicular spot. Parking is now a breeze.

BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert10

Cross-Traffic Alert

A giant leap forwards in going backwards.

Cross-traffic alert10  uses radar to watch for traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If cross-traffic alert sensors detect a vehicle approaching from up to 13.7 metres (15 yards) away, you will be alerted by a visual display in the corresponding mirror and a signal in the message centre.
Blind Spot Information System

See what you might otherwise miss.

Whether on the go or backing up BLIS with Cross Traffic Alert has got your back, literally. When backing out of a parking spot or your driveway it uses radar to watch for traffic behind.10  If a vehicle is approaching from up to 13.7 meters (15 yards) away it alerts you with an indicator in the corresponding side mirror and a signal in the message centre. When driving, radar in the rear quarter panels detects vehicles in your blind spots and alerts you with an indicator light in the appropriate sideview mirror.10  No more getting caught off guard.

Lane Keeping Assist

Lane Keeping Assist10

Introducing drift-free driving.

It used to be that you’d look down to change the station, then look up to find yourself staring down an 18-wheeler. Never again. Lane Keeping Assist uses a front-viewing camera mounted in front of the windshield’s rear view mirror, to detect unintentional drifting toward the outside of a lane. If your car starts to drift, the system can notify you with a little steering wheel vibration, or it can even gently direct you back towards the center of the lane.10 No more inadvertently playing chicken.
