The F-150 offers four engines, from the 2.7L EcoBoost® to the 5.0L, so you can choose the combination of performance and fuel efficiency that matches the requirements of your work.

With advanced twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) technology, the cams open/close the valves in precise duration to suit the operating conditions. Power output is optimized at every point across the performance range. The 3.5L V6 has a 5 percent better power-to-weight ratio than the previous 3.7L V6.

3.5L EcoBoost® with Auto Start-Stop Technology

The second-generation 3.5-litre EcoBoost® engine provides impressive performance, thanks to engineering innovations and 10-speed transmission pairing. This engine delivers best-in-class* 470 lb.-ft. of torque, 50 lb.-ft. more torque compared with its predecessor. The engine also provides better low-end and peak performance, ideal for hauling heavy payloads and towing trailers.

Also new: a Ford-first dual-direct and port fuel-injection system, plus redesigned turbochargers for more boost, and Auto Start/Stop Technology System now standard on the 3.5L EcoBoost® Engine.

2.7L EcoBoost® V6 with Auto Start-Stop Technology

The 2.7L EcoBoost® has the highest Government of Canada-estimated fuel efficiency ratings* of any gas-powered, light-duty pickup and delivers robust performance, with up to 8,500 lbs. (3,855 kg) of maximum towing20  and 2,210 lbs. (1,020 kg) of maximum payload20 . It features twin turbochargers for on-demand power, and the upper block and cylinders are made of the same compacted graphite iron used in the 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel. Twin-independent variable cam timing, plus a variable-displacement oil pump ensures everything keeps moving, and piston connecting rods use an offset I-beam design that provides strength while reducing weight for better responsiveness. It also includes Auto Start-Stop Technology, which shuts off the engine when you come to a stop to save fuel.

5.0L Ti-VCT V8

This muscular engine is built to handle heavy on-the-job hauling. Twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) technology optimizes performance across the entire low, mid and high ranges of the power band to match the driving conditions. A CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package* is available for conversion to compressed natural gas (CNG) or propane autogas. A Snow Plow Prep Package is also available.
*Vehicle will be equipped with the standard factory gasoline fuel system. This package does not include CNG/Propane autogas fuel tanks and lines, which are supplied, installed and warranted by an authorized CNG/Propane autogas Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM).

DOHC 24-valve, High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost® engine

The all-new, twin-turbo, intercooled DOHC 24-valve, High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost® with direct fuel injection will deliver even more power than the previous 6.2L V8. A 10-speed automatic transmission with manual-shifting mode sends that power to all four wheels.
