Can I defer/extend a payment on my account?
If you are unable to make your payment, a payment extension may be provided to customers who qualify. Payment extensions allow you to defer payment(s) to the end of your contract. Please note, a fee may apply to process the extension.
Important extension information for financing customers: An extension fee may be applied to your account. Finance charges or interest may continue to accrue on your account. The unpaid amount financed may not reduce as rapidly as it would have under your original payment schedule. This may result in owing more finance charges over the term of your contract than originally disclosed. The expiry date for any additional warrantees or services you have purchased will not be extended through a payment extension.
Important extension information for leasing customers: An extension fee may be applied to your account. Your kilometer allowance does not increase and your lease termination date is deferred based on the number of payments extended. The expiry date for any additional warrantees or services you have purchased will not be extended through a payment extension.
You may be able to request and process an extension through Account Manager Online.
To process an extension within Account Manager, please take the following steps:
- Sign in to Account Manager.
- Select the "Services"
- Click "Payment Extension"
- Follow the prompts
- Select "Reason for the Extension" from the drop-down menu, and select number of payments to be extended.
- Select "Review Agreement."
- Once you have reviewed and accepted all terms of the extension, close the agreement and click "Next Step."
- Check the "Accept and Sign" box and click "Submit" to finalize your request.
NOTE: All parties on the contract must be registered in Account Manager individually to complete this process. Additionally, all parties must click the "Accept and Sign" box within five days of the date of the extension request or the request will expire. Please continue to make your payments until the extension has been completed.
