How do I use Plug & Charge with my all-electric Ford?

Plug & Charge works automatically when you enroll in the BlueOval™ Charge Network. You can park at a participating charging station, plug in your vehicle, and your charging session will begin, billed automatically to the card on your account.

Turning Plug & Charge On or Off

If Plug & Charge does not activate automatically, or you would like to turn it off, perform the following steps in the Ford app: 

  1. Ensure your vehicle is in an open and safe area with access to a strong cellular signal, and that it is not plugged in.
  2. Open the Ford app.
  3. Tap Energy.
  4. Select Charge payment and access.
  5. Toggle the Plug & Charge slider to your preference (On or Off).

Plug & Charge Failed to Activate or Deactivate

If you are having trouble activating or deactivating Plug & Charge, review the following guidance.

  • Confirm that you have activated your BlueOval Charge Network account.

    Important:
    • Only the user who activated the BlueOval Charge Network account can change the vehicle's Plug & Charge settings.
    • If you are granted access by another user, you will have restricted access to the vehicle's payment and access features.
       
  • Confirm that your vehicle is not plugged in. Plug & Charge will not enable or disable if the vehicle is plugged into a charger.
  • Allow some time for the vehicle to confirm that Plug & Charge is activated or deactivated. The Ford app will notify you when Plug & Charge settings change.

If you continue to have concerns, start the vehicle and attempt to activate or deactivate Plug & Charge while the vehicle is on, in a safe, open area, with access to a strong cellular signal.
