What is Pre-Collision Assist* with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) on my Ford?

The Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking feature is a driver-assist system designed to help detect and potentially avoid frontal collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians.

How it Works

  1. If a potential collision is detected, an alert sound is emitted and a warning message displays on the instrument cluster.
  2. If your response is not sufficient, AEB will increase Brake Assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake.
  3. If the driver does not take corrective action and a collision is imminent, brakes will apply automatically.

Where can I learn more about Driver-Assist technologies?

*Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking can detect pedestrians, but not in all conditions and does not replace safe driving. Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment, and need to control the vehicle. See Owner's Manual for system limitations.
