What is the Collision Warning with Brake Support feature on my Ford?

Collision Warning with Brake Support* warns you if there is a risk of a collision with a red light-emitting diode (LED) head-up display on the windshield and an audible warning tone, which also mutes the audio system.

Changing the Warning System Sensitivity

Note: Instructions may vary. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for information specific to your vehicle.

You can change the warning system sensitivity** to one of three settings by using the five-way control on your steering wheel.

  1. Scroll to Driver Assist.
  2. Select Collision Warning.
  3. Press Sensitivity.
  4. Select either High, Normal, or Low.

The most sensitive setting will detect stationary objects near your vehicle, while a lower setting may lead to fewer and later warnings.

*Feature is available on select vehicles. Features may vary based on model year, trim, options, packages, and supply availability. Use the Build and Price tool to view feature availability on current models. If you have questions or need more information, reference your Owner’s Manual or contact your Ford Dealer. Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment, and need to control the vehicle. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for details and limitations.

**If collision warnings are perceived as being too frequent or disturbing then the warning sensitivity can be reduced, though the manufacturer recommends using the highest sensitivity setting where possible. Setting lower sensitivity would lead to fewer and later system warnings.
