Important: For your safety, always use caution and good judgment when investigating any alerts from your vehicle to prevent confrontations and/or endangering yourself.
- Call the police, so your local law enforcement can help you file a report. Make sure to have a copy of the police report number and contact information.
- Contact us by phone at 1-866-861-0419 or through the FordPass App by selecting Monitoring > Call Ford Secure.
- We will verify your police report with law enforcement so we can begin:
- Tracking your vehicle's location.
- Disabling factory reset functionality.
- Sending you an email confirmation with a summary of your case details.
- Engaging police for case updates, sharing your vehicle locations with them, and requesting they keep you informed on your vehicle status.
- The police will let you know if your vehicle is recovered.
- We will deactivate tracking and initiate recovery mode once your vehicle is returned. You will receive an email confirming these changes.
How does Stolen Vehicle Services work?
Stolen Vehicle Services uses various sensors and systems on your vehicle to monitor and report activity around your vehicle. The service will notify you of unusual or unexpected activity through the FordPass App.
What happens in the event of a theft?
In the event of theft, you can use the FordPass App to confirm the theft. This service then uses your vehicle’s cellular data connection and the ability to receive GPS data to track your vehicle.
Important: Tracking can be affected by the loss of these signals, the coverage in your area, or the vehicle’s surroundings.
Can I do a factory reset while my vehicle is stolen?
The factory reset function is unavailable during the time your vehicle is stolen to prevent it from hindering recovery efforts.
We recommend waiting until after your vehicle is recovered, but if you need to perform a reset sooner, you can enable the reset function for one hour using the FordPass App.
Where does Stolen Vehicle Services work?
Stolen Vehicle Services works in the United States and Canada. The service is not currently available in U.S. territories or commonwealths.
Why do I need to close the Power Tailgate to activate Stolen Vehicle Services?
The Power Tailgate (if equipped) for activation purposes is considered a door, and all doors must be closed before the initial activation of Stolen Vehicle Services.
What is Vehicle System Protection?
We keep your vehicle connected in the event of theft. This ensures that only the authorized users can override the vehicle’s connectivity settings, and we can continue to track its location.
Is the call centre available 24/7?
Our agents are always available to help if your vehicle is stolen. They can provide the vehicle’s location to the police and help answer any questions on your mind. Contact them through the FordPass App or call 1-866-861-0419.

What does my vehicle and Theft Alerts monitor?
Currently, the vehicle monitors and sends an alert in the following cases:
- Potential Intrusion: If someone is breaking into your vehicle, or when cabin movement is detected with the vehicle locked.
- Forceful Impact: If someone or something hits your truck or lifts it up to be towed.
- Unexpected Location: If your truck's GPS location changes without the engine or battery being powered on.
- Door Open/Ajar: If your door is opened for any reason.
- Hardware Disabled: If your vehicle's electronic systems are intentionally or unintentionally disabled, preventing normal operation.
- Factory Reset Attempt: If someone attempts to restore your vehicle to its default settings, potentially erasing personalized settings.
If a Theft Alert is triggered on your enrolled vehicle, the vehicle will start transmitting to Ford the data below:
- Make and model
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Vehicle location for 24 hours
Note: The data transmitted is subject to the vehicle connectivity and network availability.
Once an alert is triggered, the data will be stored in the Ford cloud for 30 days unless there is an active Stolen Vehicle Service case. If there is an active Stolen Vehicle Service case, the data will be stored as long as the case is active and once closed, the data will be retained for up to 10 years, after which it will be deleted.
Why am I not receiving Theft Alerts?
Push notifications must be enabled to receive Theft Alerts.
Why are other people receiving Theft Alerts about my vehicle?
All authorized FordPass account users associated with the vehicle enrolled with push notifications will receive alerts.
