What is the Ford Frunk?

The Mega Power Frunk is a trunk built into the front of the all-electric F-150® Lightning™ and the Mustang Mach-E®.

Some features include: 

  • Durable, rubberized interior and built-in drainage holes for quick and easy clean-up.
  • An adjustable opening height, so your hood can open even if ceilings are low.
  • Four Pro Power Onboard 120V outlets and two USB outlets, delivering up to 2.4 kilowatts of power when the Frunk is open.
  • Lights installed in the hood, so you can always get a clear view of your cargo.

Opening and Closing the Frunk

To open the Frunk, you can:

  • Use your key fob.
  • Pull the service release hood latch inside the footwell (which can be used even if your vehicle loses power).
  • Use Phone As A Key in the Ford app.
  • Press the soft button on the center-stack SYNC®* touchscreen.
  • Use the SecuriCode Keyless entry keypad by pressing 7/8 after entering your code.

To close the Frunk, lower the hood and apply downward force.
