How do I disable Android Auto™* using SYNC®**?

To learn how to disconnect Android Auto from you vehicle's SYNC screen, select the appropriate drop-down option below. 

Disabling Android Auto

Note: You can confirm your SYNC generation through the SYNC and Navigation Updates page by entering your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or logging in with your Ford credentials and selecting Check for Update. Your SYNC Generation will appear under SYNC Current Version. 


  1.  Tap the Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Tap Phone List.
  4. Press Disable Android Auto.

When Android Auto is disabled, your in-vehicle screen will look like the following image.

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Tap Phone List.
  3. Press Disable Android Auto.


  1. Press the Speedometer icon on the Android Auto feature bar.
  2. Select Return to SYNC.
  3. Press Android Auto Preferences.
  4. Select the smartphone that you want to disable.
  5. Select the drop-down arrow next to Enable.
  6. Press Disable to disconnect.

**Don’t drive while distracted. Use voice-operated systems when possible; don’t use handheld devices while driving. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
