How do I find my Ford vehicle's Electronic Serial Number (ESN)?
To learn how to locate your ESN, select the appropriate drop-down menu below.
Notes:
- The ESN for SiriusXM and for navigation maps are different.
- The ESN for SiriusXM should start with a V or a W.
Locating your ESN
Note: You can confirm your SYNC generation through the SYNC and Navigation Updates page by entering your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or logging in with your Ford credentials and selecting Check for Update. Your SYNC Generation will appear under "SYNC Current Version".
SYNC 4A
- Tap the Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Press Settings.
- Tap General.
- Press About SYNC.
Your SYNC Serial Number (ESN) will be displayed.
SYNC 4
- Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap General.
- Touch About SYNC.
- Scroll down until you see SYNC Serial Number (ESN).
SYNC 3
Option 1:
- Go to Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select SIRIUS to view your ESN.
Option 2:
- Tap Audio on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Press SIRIUS.
- Tune the Satellite Radio to channel 0 to view your ESN.
Option 3:
- Go to Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap General.
- Tap About SYNC.
Your ESN will be displayed.
SYNC with MyFord Touch
Tune to channel 0 to display your ESN.
SYNC with Voice-Activated Navigation
Next-Generation Navigation:
- Press the Info button, which is a lowercase "i" with a square around it.
- Go to System Info on your vehicle's touchscreen to view your ESN.
P Version:
- Press the Menu button on the left side of the screen.
- Use the touchscreen to access the System Information menu.
- Use the arrows on the touchscreen to locate the ESN.
SYNC Gen 1
Option 1:
Hold the SIRIUS and Preset 1 buttons together at the same time to view the ESN.
Option 2:
- Press the Menu button.
- Use the Up and Down arrows to scroll through the menu options until you see System Info.
- Tap Ok on this menu.
- Use the Up and Down arrows to view the ESN.
