What do I do if Android Auto™* will not connect to SYNC®** 4?

You may currently be experiencing a wired or wireless connection issue if you are using the Android Auto app with your SYNC 4 system. This is due to a recent update to version 6.4.411714.

If you are experiencing this issue:

Wireless connection issues

  1. Delete your paired phone using SYNC.
    1. Tap Settings.
    2. Press Phone List.
    3. Select Phone.
    4. Tap Delete.
  2. Perform a SYNC Module Reset.
  3. Power your phone completely off for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Power your phone back on.
  5. Connect your phone to the USB port in your vehicle. This will pair your phone with SYNC.
  6. Enable Android Auto.
    1. Go to Settings in the vehicle.
    2. Press Android Auto Preferences.
    3. Select Enable Android Auto.

If this does not resolve the issue, continue to tether your phone with a USB port for Android Auto capabilities.

USB connection issues

If your Android phone reboots when connected to SYNC via a USB cable, update Chrome™  to 88.0.4324.181 or later.

Note: Your cell phone service provider can assist you if you're having difficulty updating your device.
