What should I do if I get an "LST_ERR05" message when updating my SYNC 3 Navigation map?

An "LST_ERR05" error occurs when the navigation maps update license file is not detected within the "SyncMyRide" folder on your USB. Use the following steps if you receive an LST_005 error message while attempting to install your SYNC®* 3 Navigation map update.

Refer to the table below for the files' requirements on your USB when downloading the Navigation map update:

SYNC 3 v3.0SYNC 3 v3.3 or v3.4

8 files should be in the "SyncMyRide" folder on your USB. 

If the map license key file "JR3T-14G424-CH.TAR.GZ" is missing, you will see the "LST_ERR05" message when installing the map update.

15 files should be in the "SyncMyRide" folder on your USB. 

If the map license key file "4U5T-14G424-CF.TAR.GZ" is missing, you will see the "LST_ERR05" message when installing the map update.

Adding a Missing Map License Key File

If you find your "SyncMyRide" folder is missing the license file:

  1. Find the map license key zip file, which is Download #3 in the download instructions you received after purchasing the SYNC map update.

  2. Drag and drop the map license key file into the "SyncMyRide" folder on your USB.

    Note: The file must remain zipped.

  3. Install the update again.
