2018 Ford Edge engine choices

Power, looks and smarts. 2018 Edge is everything.

Two different engines provide more than enough attitude under the hood – the turbocharged, direct-injection twin-scroll 2.0L EcoBoost® engine, and the athletic 2.7L EcoBoost®2 . These engines were designed, engineered and built to provide the power, performance and fuel-efficiency that today’s accelerated lifestyle demands.

Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoost®

In addition to a unique twin-scroll turbocharger, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine2 also features an integrated exhaust manifold optimized for the twin-scroll setup and an active oil control system. A high-pressure direct-injection fuel system delivers the precise amount fuel, and the active wastegate accurately manages boost and torque levels. This technology helps to produce 245 horsepower11 and 275 lb.-ft. of torque11.

2018 Ford Edge with 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 engine

Available 3.5L Ti-VCT

The available 3.5L twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) delivers 280 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque11 . With conventional valve timing, the intake and exhaust valves have to open and close at a fixed point, compromising performance. But Ti-VCT virtually eliminates this compromise. With its variable control of valve cam timing, Ti-VCT can optimize performance across the entire low, mid and high ranges of the power band to match driving conditions.

2018 Ford Edge featuring available adaptive steering

Available Adaptive Front Steering10

Available adaptive front steering10 dynamically adjusts the steering response of the front wheels based on how fast the Ford Edge is moving. At low speeds, adaptive steering allows the front wheels to turn more, with less turning of the steering wheel, giving you more low-speed agility. At highway speeds, the system further optimizes steering response, enabling the vehicle to react more smoothly and precisely to driver input. Adaptive steering can help the driver feel more comfortable and can make any drive more enjoyable.

Available Adaptive Cruise Control & Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support

Available Adaptive Cruise Control & Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support10

Available adaptive cruise control isn’t conventional cruise control. When its radar sensor detects traffic slowing ahead, your vehicle also slows down.10 After traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the preset speed. This system lets the driver set distance, speed and the time gap between vehicles. Another feature, forward collision warning with brake support, can alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front of you. A heads-up display will flash on the windshield. Adaptive Cruise is included in the Safe and Smart package.
