Powertrains and Hybrid Technology

The new 2021 Escape has a choice of a Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid* and EcoBoost engines with Auto Start-Stop technology, including a 1.5L EcoBoost®  Engine and the 2.0L EcoBoost® Engine. The Plug-in Hybrid Escape features a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine and a 14.4 kWh battery.

Although the 2021MY Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid is sold across Canada, availability is currently limited outside Quebec and British Columbia. Available Intelligent AWD and AWD Disconnect

Designed to help save fuel, available All-Wheel-Drive Disconnect automatically lets you disconnect the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, therefore reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain.
