How do I maintain my Ford electric vehicle?

All-electric vehicles (EVs) require less scheduled maintenance than comparable traditional (gas/diesel) vehicles because they have fewer moving parts. Some services that you may be used to, such as oil changes, will not be required.

Tip: To get maintenance and service notifications, activate your vehicle in the Ford app*.

Some general maintenance tips to remember for your vehicle include:

  • Keeping your EV battery charged when not in use to maintain a healthy battery.
  • Maintaining the brake, transmission, and washer fluids.
  • Making sure all interior and exterior lights are working.
  • Checking your tires (including your spare) for wear and pressure.
  • Checking your 12V battery connections for corrosion.
