How do I connect a Bluetooth®* device to a vehicle without SYNC®**?

Pairing Instructions

Note: The only vehicles capable of connecting to Bluetooth that do not have a SYNC system are listed in this article. 

Select your vehicle from the drop-downs below:

2022 Model Year (MY) and Newer Maverick

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your device. 
  2. Press Settings on your vehicle's touchscreen.
  3. Tap Bluetooth.
  4. Slide the Bluetooth toggle to On.
  5. Touch Add a Bluetooth Device. You will be prompted to search for your vehicle on your Bluetooth device.
  6. Select the vehicle on the device. A number will appear on your device and on your vehicle's touchscreen.
  7. Confirm the number on the device matches the one on your vehicle's touchscreen. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.

2015 MY and Newer Transit

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your device. 
  2. Press Settings on your vehicle's touchscreen.
  3. Tap Bluetooth.
  4. Slide the Bluetooth toggle to On.
  5. Touch Add a Bluetooth Device. You will be prompted to search for the vehicle on your Bluetooth device.
  6. Select your vehicle on the device. A number will appear on your device and on your vehicle's touchscreen.
  7. Confirm the number on the device matches the one on your vehicle's touchscreen. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.

2019 MY and Newer Ranger

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your device.
  2. Press the PHONE button on your vehicle's touchscreen.
  3. Select BT Devices
  4. Follow the prompts on the screen to connect your device. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.
