How do I perform a software update on my Ford Maverick 8-Inch Touchscreen radio*?

To update the radio in your Ford Maverick:

  1. Turn on your vehicle in a well-ventilated, safe location.

  2. Press the Settings button.

  3. Swipe to the right to see the other settings and tap the Wi-Fi button.

  4. Use the System Wi-Fi toggle to enable Wi-Fi.

  5. Select View available networks.

  6. Select your Wi-Fi network.

  7. Enter your Wi-Fi password to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

  8. Press the Settings button once connected.

  9. Press Automatic updates

  10. Use the Automatic system updates toggle to enable automatic software updates.

  11. Select Scan for updates now to trigger a software update.

  12. Wait while the system is checking for an update. There will be a circular animation.

    • If there is no software update available, the system will show when it last checked for updates.

    • If there is a software update available, the system will automatically show a progress bar indicating the status of the software download.

After installation is finished, it will take a few ignition cycles for the software to be updated. There will be a temporary message on the top bar stating “Update installation complete” when it is done.

Note: The approximate time for an update is 10-20 minutes, depending on connection bandwidth.
