Why are the Third Row PowerFold Seats not working in my 2025 Ford Expedition?

Some 2025 Model Year Ford Expedition owners may find that the third-row seats do not respond to the power seat buttons. If your vehicle has this concern, refer to the troubleshooting steps below.

The Third Row PowerFold seats* allow you to automatically fold the vehicle's third-row seats to different positions using the vehicle's power seat buttons. For more information about this feature, refer to your Owner's Manual. 

Restoring the Third Row PowerFold Seat Functionality

  1. Remove anything from the second- and third-row seats that may physically block the third-row seats from folding.
  2. Slide the second-row seats all the way forward. 
  3. Start your vehicle. 
  4. Open the liftgate.

  5. Press and hold the RH Both LH button on the power seat button panel for up to 1 minute until the seats move and stop. Then, hold it down for 5 more seconds before releasing it. 

    Note: The power seat button panel is usually located on the passenger's side of the vehicle, near the armrest of the third-row seat. However, the location and options of the panel and appearance of the RH Both LH button may vary based on the vehicle's trim level. If you need assistance locating the button or panel, refer to your vehicle's Owner's Manual for more information.

Once the RH Both LH button is released, the Third Row PowerFold seat feature should work. 

Note: If the Third Row PowerFold seat feature still does not work, an over-the-air software update will be coming soon to fix this issue.
