How do I change SYNC®* Connectivity Settings?

You can enable or disable Vehicle Connectivity through the settings menu of your vehicle's SYNC system.

Your vehicle's connectivity settings must be enabled to use connected service features, such as:

  • Weather.
  • News.
  • Traffic.
  • Navigation.
  • Points of interest.
  • Bluetooth®** Prioritization: Add, delete, and prioritize your Bluetooth-enabled devices with Bluetooth Prioritization.
  • Wireless App Projection: Customize the touchscreen SYNC AppLink® display.
  • Manage Wi-Fi Networks: Add and delete your list of Wi-Fi networks.

Turning Vehicle Connectivity Settings On and Off

Important: Ensure that your vehicle is on and running in a well-ventilated area, and is in Park (P).

SYNC 4A

To change the connectivity settings with SYNC 4A:

  1. Tap either the Home or Settings icon (based on your SYNC 4A software version) on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Connectivity.
  3. Choose Connected Vehicle Features.
  4. Toggle Vehicle Connectivity to your preference (On or Off).

We recommend keeping Vehicle Connectivity on for the best update experience.

SYNC 4

To change the connectivity settings with SYNC 4:

  1. Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Tap Connectivity.
  3. Choose Connectivity Vehicle Features.
  4. Toggle Vehicle Connectivity to your preference (On or Off).

SYNC 3

To change the connectivity settings with SYNC 3:

  1. Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC 3 screen.
  2. Select FordPass®†† Connect.
  3. Press Connectivity Settings.
  4. Ensure all Connectivity Settings are enabled to access all FordPass features.
  5. To disable, slide the buttons to Off.

*Do not drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
