How do I set Valet Mode with SYNC®*?
In Valet Mode, your SYNC system can be password-protected to ensure that your personal information cannot be accessed by anyone using your vehicle. To learn how to set Valet Mode with SYNC, select the appropriate drop-down option below.
Setting Valet Mode
Note: You can confirm your SYNC generation through the SYNC and Navigation Updates page by entering your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or logging in with your Ford credentials and selecting Check for Update. Your SYNC Generation will appear under "SYNC Current Version".
SYNC 4
- Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap Valet Mode.
- Select Yes when prompted by the pop-up.
- Create a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).
- Press Done.
The system is now locked until the correct PIN is entered.
SYNC 4A
- Click on the Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap CONTROLS.
- Press Valet Mode.
- Create a four-digit PIN.
- Click Done.
The system is now locked until the correct PIN is entered.
SYNC 3
- Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Press Valet Mode. A message will ask you to enter a PIN.
- Select Yes to continue.
- Enter a four-digit PIN of your choice.
- Press Done.
- Re-enter the PIN to complete the process.
The system is now locked until the correct PIN is entered.
SYNC with MyFord Touch®
- Press Menu (gear icon) on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Press Vehicle.
- Press Enable Valet Mode. A message will ask you to enter a PIN.
- Select Yes to continue.
- Enter a four-digit PIN of your choice.
- Press Enter.
- Re-enter the PIN to complete the process.
The system is now locked until the correct PIN is entered.
SYNC with Voice-Activated Navigation
- Press the MENU hard button.
- Select the Valet Mode tab on the touchscreen.
- Press Enable Valet Mode.
- Enter a four-digit PIN of your choice.
- Press Enter. The system will ask you to re-enter the PIN.
- Re-enter your PIN.
- Select Enable to activate Valet Mode.
The system is now locked until the correct PIN is entered.
