How do I use my Ford vehicle's heated and cooled seats and steering wheel?

You can use your heated and ventilated (cooled) seats, and the heated steering wheel (if equipped)* of your vehicle with your Ford Digital Experience®**, SYNC®† screen, or your climate control panel.

Note: Instructions may vary. Refer to your Owner's Manual for information specific to your vehicle.

Using Your Heated and Ventilated Seats

Refer to the table below to learn how to turn on your heated and ventilated seats.

  1. Select the seat symbol on the bottom left of the touchscreen.
  2. Tap either the heated seat icon or the ventilated seat icon to turn it on.

  1. Press the icon again to determine the intensity. More indicator lights showing on the display indicate a higher intensity. 
  1. Select the heated seat icon or the ventilated seat icon on the climate control panel to turn it on.

  1. Press the icon again to determine the intensity. More indicator lights showing on the display indicate a higher intensity. 

The heated and cooled seat feature will turn off automatically when the vehicle is turned off. To manually turn the feature off, press the buttons until no indicator light appears.

Note: Your rear seats may also be equipped with the heating feature. If equipped, the control settings are located on the back of the center console and are used in the same way as the settings for the front seats.

Using Your Heated Steering Wheel

Select the steering wheel icon on the bottom left of the touchscreen or on your climate control unit. On your touchscreen, the icon may be located in the same tab as the heated and cooled seat, depending on your vehicle model and year.

Note: A sensor regulates the temperature of the steering wheel automatically.

The heated steering wheel will turn off automatically when the vehicle is turned off. To manually turn the feature off, press the button until no indicator light appears.
