Engine lineup more potent than ever.

Ford engineers constantly work to make the F-150 pickup better every year and push the competition even harder to try to keep up on the performance front. There are six engine choices, naturally aspirated and turbocharged, including the awesome high-output 3.5L EcoBoost®  in the Baja-bred F-150 Raptor. Auto Start-Stop Technology is on all engines. And more engines feature the segment-exclusive* 10-speed automatic. Even bigger F-150 news coming down the road is the new 3.0L Power Stroke®  Turbo Diesel (available Spring 2018).

Awesome 3.5L EcoBoost performance

3.5L EcoBoost®

Not satisfied with the high power ratings of their 3.5L EcoBoost® , Ford engineers designed a second generation of this potent EcoBoost with even higher ratings of 375 horsepower and best-in-class* 470 lb.-ft. of torque, beats out all gas and diesel competitors. This engine delivers the F-150 max best-in-class* tow rating (when properly configured). Big improvements: Ford-first port fuel and direct injection (PFDI) with two injectors per cylinder—one in the air intake port and another inside the cylinder—to improve power and efficiency. All-new twin turbos for greater on-demand power. A more responsive plus high-end-efficient 10-speed transmission.
* Max towing on F-150 XLT SuperCrew®, 6.5’ box, 3.5L EcoBoost, 4X2 and Max Trailer Tow Pkg. Not shown. Class is Full-Size Pickups under 8,500 lbs. (3,855 kg) GVWR based on Ford segmentation.
A 2.7-litre V6 with impressive fuel efficiency and robust performance

2.7L EcoBoost®

How does the 2.7L EcoBoost® deliver impressive performance and capability*, with power ratings of 325 horsepower and a jaw-dropping 400 lb.-ft. of torque? The answer: features like Ford-first port fuel and direct injection (PFDI) with two injectors per cylinder (one in the air intake port, another inside the cylinder), plus upper block and cylinders made of the same high-strength compacted graphite iron used in the Super Duty® 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel. And as for strength, the 2.7L EcoBoost powered an aluminum-alloy body F-150 prototype competed in the 2013 Baja 1000, finishing the race with needing just an air filter replacement. Afterwards, engineers drove that street-legal F-150 back to Michigan.
*Power ratings: 325 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Capacity ratings: maximum 2,230 lbs. (1,011 kg) of payload and 8,500 lbs. (3,855 kg) of towing, when properly equipped.
Advanced V6 engineered for performance and efficiency

New 3.3L Ti-VCT V6

With responsive power and capability*, the new 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 can handle the demands of everyday jobs. The twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) opens/closes the valves in precise duration to suit operating conditions, so power output is optimized at every point across the performance band. The 3.3L also has the Ford-first port fuel and direct injection system (PFDI): two injectors per cylinder, one mounted in the air intake port and another positioned inside the cylinder. The 6-speed automatic transmission has three selectable modes to suit the driving condition: Normal, Tow-Haul, and Sport.
*290 horsepower; 265 lb.-ft. of torque.
Legendary 5.0-liter Ford V8 muscle

5.0L Ti-VCT V8

This legendary Ford V8 delivers even more muscle than ever and delivers a best-in-class payload*. Experience robust 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, thanks to twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) and new direct-injection (DI). Ti-VCT optimizes performance across the entire power band to match driving conditions. DI injects gas at high pressure directly and precisely into each cylinder, extracting as much power as possible from every drop of fuel. The 5.0L offers a CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package for conversion to compressed natural gas (CNG) or propane autogas**. A Snow Plow Prep Package is also available.

*Max payload on F-150 XL Regular Cab, 8’ box, 5.0L, 4X2, Heavy Duty Payload Pkg. and 18” Heavy Duty Wheels. Not shown. Class is full-size pickups under 8,500 lbs. (3,855 kg). GVWR based on Ford segmentation.

**Vehicle will be equipped with the standard factory gasoline fuel system. This package does not include compressed natural gas/propane fuel tanks and lines, sold separately.

High performance Raptor powerplant for extreme off-roading

Raptor DOHC 24-Valve, High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost®

The Baja-bred F-150 Raptor is perfectly at home on a typical paved road. But going from mild to wild on the most unforgiving terrain – now we’re in the territory where the Raptor excels with its extraordinary capability, beginning with raw power. Unique to the Raptor is a twin-turbo, intercooled DOHC 24-valve, 3.5L EcoBoost® with port fuel and direct injection system and 10-speed automatic. This high-output EcoBoost generates a massive 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque—more power than the previous 6.2L V8. Raptor is also equipped with selectable terrain management modes: Normal, Baja, Rock Crawl, Sport, Mud-Sand, and Wet-Snow.

The New 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel V6*

As part of its most advanced engine lineup ever, the 2018 Ford F-150 will offer a much-anticipated new alternative. The new 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel V6 is built on the legacy of the tried-and-true Super Duty® diesel, designed to deliver outstanding power in a hard-working truck.

Advanced 10-speed transmission

Advanced 10-Speed Automatic Transmission

F-150 EcoBoost® and V8 engines deliver their power through an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission. Compared with the 6-speed gearbox it replaced, the 10-speed delivers improved overall performance, with enhanced acceleration at the low and mid ranges of the power band. Features include optimized wide-span gear spacing coupled with drag-reduction actions plus three overdrive gears. What’s more, you can choose from selectable modes: Normal, Tow-Haul, Snow-Wet, EcoSelect, and Sport.
Auto start-stop technology to educed fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving.

Auto Start-Stop Technology

Auto start-stop technology is now a standard feature on all F-150 engines. When you come to a stop, the engine shuts off to save fuel and restarts immediately when the brake is released. Designed smart for truck applications, auto start-stop deactivates when it wouldn’t be needed such as when you’re towing or running in 4-wheel drive.
