Pro Power Onboard Availability
Depending on your vehicle, Pro Power Onboard has different power outputs.†

Activating Pro Power Onboard
When your vehicle is turned on in an open, well-ventilated area, you can send power where you need it. Refer to the table below to learn how to activate Pro Power Onboard.
Notes:
- Pro Power Onboard – 400W will not appear on your infotainment system or in the Ford app.††
- Refer to your Owner’s Manual for more information, warnings, and precautions.

| 400W System | Turn the vehicle on. The power outlet indicator will illuminate when the outlet is providing power. If you want to use your system for more than 30 minutes:

Cargo bed outlets will also need to be turned on by pressing the power button at the outlet. You can also activate Pro Power Onboard using the Pro Power Onboard button located:

Monitoring Power
You can keep track of power usage and load on your infotainment screen or remotely through the Ford app††. You will be notified if you trip a circuit breaker by pulling too much power.
To view Pro Power Onboard in the Ford app:
- Log in to the Ford app.
- Navigate to the Vehicle screen.
- Select Pro Power Onboard.
Resetting Pro Power Onboard
If you trip your circuit, unplug all devices and reset the breaker from the infotainment screen. For the 7.2kW and 9.6kW systems, you also have the option to reset the breakers from the cargo bed outlet by pressing the two reset buttons.
Note: The 400W system does not offer infotainment screen controls or Ford app†† integration.
Pro Power Onboard on the Go
Charge up your toys, tools, and devices while driving. Your Pro Power Onboard system is operational while in motion. That means you can plug in on the way and arrive powered up using any of the Pro Power Onboard outlets during drive time.
Note: The F-150 Lightning frunk outlets have reduced output when closed. Maximum power may be reduced when your vehicle is in Drive (D).
Pro Power Onboard Idle Power
Help keep your equipment safe and charging while your vehicle is parked in an open and well-ventilated area. You can remove your key, lock your vehicle, and idle while running Pro Power Onboard in Utility Idle mode.
How to turn on Utility Idle:
- Select Features on your infotainment screen.
- Open Pro Power Onboard.
- Select Generator Mode.
- Choose Utility Idle.
To remove your flip key:
- Press the brake pedal once.
- Turn the key to position 0.
- Remove the key and Pro Power Onboard will run until the fuel or battery power is fully exhausted.
Setting Pro Power Reserve on the F-150 Lightning Truck
You can save battery range by setting a battery reserve limit. This ensures that you have enough charge to get home or to a public charging station to recharge your F-150 Lightning.
Set your power reserve within the Pro Power Onboard feature on your infotainment screen.

What devices are safe to use with Pro Power Onboard outlets?
Ford recommends using Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) or Ford-approved devices. UL is the standard for safety and compliance. It identifies a product that is certified for conformity and tested for quality.
You can find the “UL” mark on the device’s label or manufacturer-provided power cable.
Can I use Pro Power Onboard while driving?
You can use Pro Power Onboard even while driving. That means you can plug in on the way and arrive powered up using any of your Pro Power outlets during drive time.
Important:
- Do not use the onboard generator to power a towable item when your vehicle is in motion unless you are using Ford-approved accessories.
- F-150 Lightning frunk outlets have reduced output when the frunk is closed. Maximum power may be reduced when your vehicle is in Drive (D).
