How do I report a successful SYNC installation?

You can report a completed SYNC®* update on the SYNC and Navigation Updates website using your computer and the USB drive you used to complete the process.

Note: If you have not yet performed a SYNC update, refer to the How do I install SYNC updates using a USB or Wi-Fi®? article.

To record a successful SYNC software update: 

  1. Insert the flash drive (also known as a USB or thumb drive) you used for the update into your computer.
  2. Go to the SYNC and Navigation Updates page.
  3. Scroll down to Step Three: Confirm Update.
  4. Click on Browse for log file.
  5. Select the XML log file in the SYNCMyRide folder.

    Note: An example of the file you will upload is "sync_48474463_1A2B3C4D5E6F8G8H9.xml." Your file name will differ because it will contain your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
