The 2017 Ford Escape 2.0L EcoBoost® features an advanced Twin-Scroll turbocharger designed to transfer high-pulse energy to the turbine wheel, resulting in ultrafast time-to-torque for instantaneous power on demand.
1.5L EcoBoost®

1.5L EcoBoost®

Standard on the Ford Escape SE and available on the S (4WD) model, the 1.5L EcoBoost® is designed to be the most efficient Escape engine2 . It combines two technologies – turbocharging and direct injection. It also features Auto Start-Stop Technology to help reduce emissions and conserve fuel.

Available Auto Start-Stop Technology 

The efficiency-minded attitude of the Ford Escape goes further with the addition of available Auto Start-Stop Technology*, which can help reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving. While the vehicle is stopped, the engine automatically shuts off and then seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator or when your foot leaves the brake pedal. Balancing the torque delivery helps the Ford Escape stay on your intended path, especially when navigating wet or slippery surfaces. In cornering situations, the system automatically applies the brake on the inside front wheel, effectively delivering more torque to the front outside wheel and enhancing handling19 .
