Tested and Built Ford Tough®

Tested and Built Ford Tough®

The Ford Transit has been subjected to eleven million customer-equivalent kilometres of brutal testing in our labs and on proving grounds, roads and highways across North America, at temperature extremes from -40 to 50 degrees Celsius. Our objective was simple: make sure Transit could take on the toughest challenges of strength and dependability.

Unibody Construction

Unibody Construction

The Transit Cargo Van and Passenger Wagon are built with lightweight yet strong unibody construction. Front, rear and side rails are welded to the floor pan, crossmembers and torque boxes to form a single body. Unibody construction, while lighter in weight than body-on-frame, yields tremendous strength and durability. It’s built with high-strength steel as well as boron steel in select areas.
